Today King Carl Gustaf and Queen Silvia held a diplomatic reception at the Royal Palace.

On a few occasions a year there is an opportunity for newly appointed ambassadors with respective to meet the King and Queen at a reception at the Royal Palace. This time it was with the respective ambassadors from Afghanistan, Armenia, Bangladesh, Egypt, Kazakhstan, Macedonia, Saudi Arabia who came to the Royal Palace at the Princess Sibylla’s apartments.

The Earl and Countess Of Wessex at the TCT Coho river trail in North Carolina. They are currently on a whistle stop tour of Canada.

The Earl and Countess of Wessex are currently on a 5 day tour of Canada.  They made a visit to the  Capilano River Hatchery and then walked a section of the Trans Canada Trail through Capilano River Regional Park. 

The Countess of Wessex also visited Jeneece Place, a children’s health foundation. 

Jeneece Place is a home away from home for families who travel to Victoria for their child’s (19 and under) medical care. It is owned and operated by Children’s Health Foundation of Vancouver Island.”

Queen Maxima travelled to Buenos Aires to attend her mother’s 70. Birthday last weekend

Princess Estelle learned some sign language while attending Sport Day at Haga Park on September 7 when she stopped by the NS Hephata tent.  NS Hephata is a sport club for the deaf and hearing impaired.   

Crown Princess Victoria explained to Princess Estelle that sign language is a language for the deaf and hearing impaired.  Prince Daniel also tried to spell his name, but had some difficulty.  Princess Estelle was given a packet with signs so she could continue practicing at home.  

Princess Estelle is also learning English from her Australian nanny.

Monday, September 8 and Tuesday 9 September highlighted the World Childhood Foundation’s 15th anniversary in Stockholm. Yesterday a dinner was hosted. Today, World Childhood Foundation’s annual meeting took place. The Queen welcomed chairman Kenneth Bengtsson. They discussed the plans for the coming year. The annual meeting ended by Princess Madeleine, who talked about ThankYou village Childhood, a global initiative that aims to highlight the importance of a safe and loving childhood.
